New methodology of calculation of premiums of obligatory auto civil liability insurance (OACLI) and - Green Card" corresponds to international standards and will be more efficient if the process of presentation of information is more transparent,-expert Alexander Zgardan.
During the presentation of the research - Characteristics of obligatory insurance in the field of auto transport in Moldova", the expert of IDIS Viitorul noted that within one year since the legislation has come into force, many difficulties have appeared. According to Alexander Zgardan, with the approval of the new tariffs both OACLI premiums as well as the «green card» premiums will reduce by about 25-45%.

Termocom threatens to sue economist Veaceslav Ionita
Chisinau's heat supplier Termocom accuses Veaceslav Ionita, an expert with the IDIS Viitorul think tank, of having launched - lying insinuations, has mocked at and offended the distributor of heating agent" in a news program on PRO TV on November 11. Termocom asks the economist to unveil his sources from where he got the information and to decline his statements publicly, in the same TV program, during three days. National experts calculate tariff of 651.71 lei for heat in Chisinau
Moldovan experts have calculated a tariff of 651.71 lei for 1 Gcal of the thermal agent delivered to the Chisinau consumers. A report was presented on Wednesday, November 12. The authors say they took into account the data from the financial reports of CET-1 and CET-2 plants, of Termocom and the price on the natural gas delivered by Moldovagaz. They also say they have found many breeches in the activity of Termocom, and this means that the price could be lower, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Precum a menţionat marţi, expertul economic al IDIS "Viitorul" Viorel Chivriga, în ultimii ani, ponderea exporturilor de produse agroalimentare în totalul exporturilor moldoveneşti a scăzut vertiginos, de la 61% în anul 2004 până la 39,9% în anul 2007, constată expertul economic al IDIS "Viitorul" Viorel Chivriga. Moldova expected to become net agrifood importer
The Republic of Moldova is about to become a net agrifood importing country despite holding the complete opposite position some three years ago. Preferences will not help Moldovan export
Moldova's foreign trade results have been summed up for the first six months of 2008. Exports have made up $738.2 million, which is 23% more compared to the same period of the last year. But this considerable increase is overshadowed by import indicators. The total value of imported goods has constituted $2.33 billion, which is 44.5% more than within the first six months of 2007. We see that foreign trade has not surprised us too much, the tendencies of the past years have been preserved. The only difference is that they are even more evident now. As a result, Moldovan economy has broken another record, which is far not a prestigious one. Within the last six months, the negative balance of trade has made up $1.6 billion, which is by 57% more than within the same period last year. Experts forecast that by the end of 2008 Moldova's deficit of balance of trade will exceed the psychological barrier of $3 billion for the first time.
