Moldova on its way to democracy and stability
Since the disintegration of the USSR in 1991, Republic of Moldova hasmade clear progress towards the consolidation of its state, of its military andcivil institutions, making itself notable on the geopolitical map of Europe. However,Moldova seems to be still scarcely present on the mental maps of the decision-makers from the West. Unlike the Baltic nations, that embedded themselvesinto the mind of the European public as a cohesive group of free nations, distinctfrom their poorer neighbors (Belorussians, Russians or Ukrainians, whit theirmore violent hystory after the disintegration of the Soviet Union), Moldova wasapproached with prudence if not completely neglected so that when importantEU officials have remembered, after 2003, about the post-soviet origins of thisrepublic, the Chisinau diplomacy felt offended.

Quo Vadis, Moldova?

This edition is more orientated towards the expert level-”the public servants dealing with Moldova, agencies of diplomatic and international organizations, non-governmental organizations, journalists, analysts, as well as the members of the academic community; however, we expect it will attract the attention of a larger audience as well.

REGULATORY GOVERNANCE IN SOUTH EAST EUROPEAN COUNTRIES PROGRESS AND CHALLENGES
This report of the Regulatory Governance Initiative (RGI) provides an assessment on the progress of regulatory governance reforms in South East Europe (SEE), and the remaining reform challenges. Prepared as part of the Regulatory Governance Initiative of the Investment Compact (RGI), it includes the Governance Action Plans developed by the SEE countries. Short-term reform priorities identified by the countries providethe basis for the Agenda for Regional Action, an overview of main governance reform trends in the SEE region and recommendations for the successful implementation of reforms.
