Areas with the greatest energy loss in Chisinau will be subject to an energy audit
Areas with the greatest energy loss in Chisinau will be subject to an energy audit. Works will be part of the energy efficiency project and will aim the inventory of all equipment energy consumption, areas with the greatest energy loss, etc.. Based on this inventory, will be proposed solutions for the energy efficiency and conservation. It is about an energy audit of 12 objects (plants, buildings, equipment), including: Chisinau City Hall seat, four residential blocks, different in terms of material and construction technology of walls, public lighting energy audit on the Avenue Dacia, audit of two pumping stations, four schools and a kindergarten.

The Sustainable Energy Action Plan (PAED) in progress
In Chisinau will be reduced the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by at least 20% by 2020 compared to 2010. The Working group involved in the European energy efficiency project established 2010 as the referance year 2010, having into account the availability of data on energy consumption and CO2 emissions, necessary for the realization of the Sustainable Energy Action Plan (PAED).

Discussion club in Cahul: "Romanian Language in the Local Press is like a Cinderella"
A club of discussions on issues that are faced by local media in Cahul has turned into a plead of the participants for a new local newspaper in the Romanian language. This is because of the lack of an alternative is not beneficial for people, who find out more from the existent bilingual publication Cahul Express, about opportunities of purchase-selling than about local news, events which affect those people. Still, this newspaper is in demand and is an awaited newspaper. IDIS Bulletin: Its not the - package" or - separate" approach that will make possible EU membership for Moldova, but the insistence on internal reforms
After consistent efforts, Moldova is among the leaders in the region in the race for European integration. At this moment, both Moldovas and Ukraines relations with the EU are practically at the same level of development. In these circumstances, any statements of the Moldovan authorities asking for a separate approach in the European integration process might upset Kiev administration, generating negative effects as regards the openness of Ukraine towards Transnistrian settlement. It is noteworthy that when Ukraine was implementing better the reforms and was closer to EU, it did not advance the idea of decoupling itself from Moldova. However, placing these two neighboring states in a - package" approach seems to be a risky strategy, because it makes them dependent on each country performances, which could lead to future charges on inefficiency or slow running internal reforms. In this context, it is obvious that the surest way for Moldova to advance in its European integration path is the continuity of reforms, together with the acquis harmonisation.

The Social Monitor: People with disabilities are dependent of social allowances and have slim chances to integrate in the society
People with disabilities are dependent on social allowances that allow them only to survive and have small chances of integrating in the society. Thus, numerous people with disabilities are still excluded from social life. Basically, the people with motion difficulties are condemned to spend their time at home, being dependent on relatives, due to lack of access tracks or due to steep tracks including those in many public institutions. The right to work is also partially ensured, under conditions when employers avoid the people in wheelchairs, while there is no regulation on contracts for home employment for people with disabilities.

IDIS "Viitorul" will cooperate with the Customs Service to fight corruption and increase trust in the customs service work
IDIS "Viitorul", in partnership with the Customs Service has launched today August 4, 2010 a project on fighting corruption and increasing the trust of citizens, especially economic agents, in the work of customs service. Thus, a trust line will be re-launched on which acts of corruption can be announced. Also, the activity of Civic Council within the Customs Service will be promoted -“ basis for consulting which will be supported by the project implemented by IDIS "Viitorul". The initiative is financed by the East-European Foundation.

Moldovan authorities might consider lifting previous support for Russias accession to World Trade Organization (WTO) until the wine exports dispute will be resolved and the losses of Moldovan producers are fully reimbursed. Thats because the Russian Federation din not respect the basic condition of not imposing wine embargo, undertaken in 2007 in exchange of Moldovas official support for Russian WTO accession. Thus, the sanctions are breaking the Russian plans to remain attractive for the CIS states.
