Removing trade barriers will bring Moldova closer to the European Free Trade zone
Autonomous trade preferences, which are the base of the Moldovan exports to the EU are not fully exploited at this time by local producers in the agricultural sector. This is due to failure of sanitary and phytosanitary rules. However, the European Parliament's decision to extend this preference to 2015 and to increase quotas for some Moldovan products exported to the EU (wine, wheat, corn, barley) represents a clear signal of encouragement and support. In the perspective of signing the Association Agreement EU-Moldova, Moldova will move to another stage, benefiting of a mutual free trade agreement.
