CIUDAD-funded project will support 8 companies to attend MOLDENERGY exhibition

8 Moldovan and international companies will attend the specialized exhibition MOLDENERGY as a result of a financial support offered by a CIUDAD-funded project. Totally, 10 000 euro will be allocated to cover registration and stand rent expenses for companies to be selected by an independent committee of experts, after an open call launched on January 26, 2012.

- By empowering companies interested not only in profit, but also public education, we want to promote an energy efficiency responsible behaviour in Republic Moldova", states the project manager Daniela Frantujan.

MOLDENERGY specialized exhibition reached its 16th edition and will take place on March 14-17, 2012. Last year, the event gathered 50 companies and 10 000 visitors. Every other visitor was a foreigner.

The CIUDAD-funded project, entitled - Increasing energy efficiency of Chisinau and Sevastopol municipalities, based on existing positive experience", is implemented by the City Hall of Chisinau Municipality, in partnership with municipality of Sevastopol, IDIS - Viitorul", Union of Municipalities from Marmara Region and University of Marmara, ICLEI European Secretariat GmbH (Germany). CIUDAD (Cooperation in Urban Development and Dialog) is a European Commission Program.

Besides public education and advocacy component, the CIUDAD-funded project contributes to local legislation improvement and design of investment projects to increase energy efficiency in the target communities.
